It’s been an incredibly challenging year for Australian dairy processors, but the resilience displayed has been impressive. As the peak body for the sector, we’re proud of what we’ve been able to achieve in 2020.

To launch the Milk Value Portal, we hosted a webinar attended by farmers, processors, government, media and industry stakeholders. The 100+ attendees heard from ADPF President Grant Crothers, ADPF Executive Director Janine Waller and Bega Executive General Manager Mark McDonald about how the Milk Value Portal works, and how it will help to deliver on commitment 5 of the Australian Dairy Plan – to restore trust and transparency between farmers and processors to strengthen industry confidence. Having been ‘rusted on’ to dairy processing since the early 1980s, I am proud of what it brings to agriculture in Australia. Its core purpose is adding value to a highly nutritious, highly perishable product produced by fully committed, hardworking farming families.

Australian dairy processors are counting on the Australian Dairy Plan to turnaround the sector after a difficult few years. Australian Dairy Products Federation president Grant Crothers was one of the architects of the plan. He said the plan outlined how to rectify falling profitability through the supply chain.
