Calls for pause on export fee hikes

The Australian Dairy Products Federation (ADPF), through the Australian Dairy Industry Council (ADIC), has made a submission to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry on the draft Export Cost Recovery Implementation Statement (CRIS) for dairy exports.

In our submission, we emphasised the importance of an efficient, transparent and sustainable export regulatory system that supports Australia’s international competitiveness. ADPF expressed concern about the scale and structure of proposed increases to export charges, as well as the lack of transparency in the underlying cost model and consultation process.

ADIC called for a more measured and evidence-based approach to implementation, including a pause on fee increases, independent validation of the cost base, and a staged transition to full cost recovery aligned with demonstrated efficiency improvements.
