ADPF submission: Victorian Renewable Gas Directions Paper

ADPF has made a submission to the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action’s Victorian Renewable Gas Directions Paper. We highlighted critical considerations specific to gas-reliant sectors, such as dairy processing, and reinformed the necessity of renewable gas in the transition to sustainable energy. We urged the government to consider:

  • Setting renewable gas targets which support investment and build economies of scale.
  • Ensuring policies acknowledge the role of gas inmixed-temperature processing sectors like dairy manufacturing.
  • Supporting the development of renewable gas infrastructure in regional areas, where biogas production is particularly viable.
  • Providing incentives for industries to transition to renewable gas without compromising affordability and operational feasibility.
