The Australian Dairy Industry Council (ADIC) has made a submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry on Greenwashing. Our message is clear: coordinated support is needed so farmers and processors can continue delivering sustainability outcomes without being weighed down by duplication, cost, and complexity.

Why it matters?

The dairy sector is already investing heavily in sustainability programs. Recognising and supporting these existing frameworks — rather than creating new layers of regulation — will ensure faster progress, better adoption at farm level, and stronger returns on investment.

We’ve called for:

  • backing industry-led sustainability programs already in place
  • practical tools that make data collection and reporting more efficient
  • investment in innovation, R&D, and technology to drive the next wave of emissions reduction and circular solutions, and
  • financial support through grants, loans, and incentives to help farmers and processors transition.
