Managing in Wet Conditions

Dairy processors, alongside the whole dairy supply chain, have shown enormous resilience through recent years, and now have another challenge to overcome with the recent floodings across Tasmania, New South Wales, and northern Victoria.

Famers, processors, transport companies, and the like, have been working tirelessly and collaboratively to ensure that milk is being collected and supermarket shelves remain stocked with your favourite dairy products.

To manage the immediate and long-term impacts of flooding, from infrastructure damages to power issues, communities in the region require significant assistance to continue milk production and meet manufacturing and export demands.

ADPF is committed to supporting its members and their farmers in impacted regions, and have been working with other industry bodies and state government to address the immediate challenges and advocate for dairy to be considered as an essential food/service and prioritised for power, road access, and other support services.

Facing our third La Nina summer, more heavy rainfall is expected so we implore dairy farmers and processors to stay abreast of the resources and support available via the Dairy Australia website, and that of your local regional dairy offices and government.
